The Law Firm of Omar T. Mohammedi, LLC has litigated high profile national and international airline discrimination cases. Since the unfortunate Attacks of September 11th, our nation has seen an increase in security–particularly at airports. Although national security should remain a high priority, citizens should never have to be subjected to racial profiling and discrimination.
We have earned a reputation for aggressively, efficiently and successfully representing clients who have been discriminated against at an airport by airlines, airport police, the TSA or other agencies simply for their religion, ethnicity, national origin or race. Our legal team has been at the forefront of this area of law, representing clients successfully in landmark decisions.
Six Imams Case
The firm is particularly involved as a lead attorney in a landmark and well known case Shqeirat v. US Airways Group Inc., also known as the Six Imams case. The case began in 2006 when six Muslim clerics were removed humiliated, arrested and interrogated in Minnesota Airport in 2006 based on their race and religious beliefs.
We represent the six Imams in their lawsuit to enforce their constitutional and civil rights. Through the course of this litigation we have defeated various motions to dismiss and motions for summary judgments and battled through complex and new legal issues. Our firm has been successful in the zealous representation of the Six Imams case through three years of litigation.
The case has two published opinions that have addressed major constitutional issues and a new precedent involving the passage of a new legislation.
